The Monarch is a one-piece Hawaiian koa slab measuring approximately 7 ft × 6 ft × 4 in — about 164 board feet of old-growth, highly figured koa with no glue line, no book-match and no seam. Trees large enough to yield a six-foot-wide top are no longer part of any regular koa supply; what remains in circulation is what was cut and kept decades ago.
The slab has been professionally stripped and refinished in a satin sheen. Its curl, honey-to-red-brown color range, mineral streaking and historic character marks are preserved and finished flush. At four inches thick, the top spans its four plinths with no apron or stretchers.
Included: the koa slab and four matched Absolute Black granite plinths.
